Russ Smith Dear Russ, The pumps' effect on our system have been tremendous. Historically (pre-pump installation), our two (2) 100 horsepower compressors operated for a total of of 33 hours per day. Since the refrigerant pumps have been installed, our compressor operating time has dropped to 17-20 total hours per day. Thus, over a 33% reduction in compressor time has been realized. This translated to a first post-installation electrical bill reduction of over $4,500 as compared to the same month last year. We only have ice for 8 months out of the year, yet last year's electric bill was still over $128,000. This 33-36% reduction in electrical consumption will be a tremendous boost to our bottom line and the pumps' installation cost should be recouped in less than 6 months of operation. In addition to operating with less electricity, the compressors are also operating much quieter signifying less wear and tear on the working parts. In fact, it is now possible to carry on a normal conversation while in the compressor room when the compressors are operating.
